About the Work


Personae is the title piece of Ernest Trova's eight-work collection, Personae/Etc. Created in St. Louis between May and October 1995, these works showcase Trova's late-career exploration of abstract expressionism. They were inspired by an alternate persona that Trova, a naturally shy person, later referred to as "Junior Person," the more eccentric side of himself. The collection was hand-printed at Studio Heinrici in New York City in late 1995 and published the following year by Lococo Fine Art, based in St. Louis.
