About the Work
Let's Make Love is a watercolor print created in the 1970s by the master woodcut artist Carol Summers. The piece features Summers' signature landscape motif, characterized by bright, saturated color fields that gently bleed into one another and extend beyond the edges of the paper. This particular print differs from others in the series due to the unique application of ink that Summers applied to each impression. Additionally, its substantial size stems from Summers' innovative expansion of the traditional hand press, resulting in works now known as "monumental woodcuts."
An IAC specialist has treated the print to restore the vibrancy of the colored ink and the translucency of the rice paper. A minor marking in the upper left corner is considered original to the paper. For more information, please contact the gallery.
