About the Work
After Personae is the second work in Ernest Trova's eight-piece collection titled Personae/Etc. Created by the artist in St. Louis between May and October 1995, these pieces showcase Trova's late-career exploration of abstract expressionism. They were inspired by an alternate persona that Trova, who was quite shy, later referred to as "Junior Person," the more eccentric side of himself. The collection was hand-printed at Studio Heinrici in New York City in late 1995 and was published the following year by Lococo Fine Art, based in St. Louis.
