About the Work
Meditato was created as part of Ernest Trova's eight-piece collection titled Personae/Etc. The artist produced these works in St. Louis between May and October 1995, showcasing his late-career exploration of abstract expressionism. They were inspired by an alternate persona that Trova, who was naturally shy, referred to as "Junior Person," the more eccentric side of himself. The collection was hand-printed at Studio Heinrici in New York City in late 1995 and published the following year by Lococo Fine Art, based in St. Louis.
