About the Work
General EP was created as part of Ernest Trova's eight-piece collection titled Personae/Etc. The artist produced these works in St. Louis between May and October 1995, showcasing his late-career exploration of abstract expressionism. These pieces were inspired by an alternate persona that Trova referred to as "Junior Person," representing the more eccentric side of his personality, which contrasted with his naturally shy demeanor. The collection was hand-printed at Studio Heinrici in New York City in late 1995 and was published by Lococo Fine Art, based in St. Louis, the following year.
